Where did the march come from?

The Carnival March started in Ibagué in 2010 as a way to protest against the mining project La Colosa, located in Cajamarca, Tolima. Year after year, the movement grew thanks to support from national and international donors. From the beginning, the idea came from Renzo García, a biology teacher at the University of Tolima.
